Flight Log - 2016-05-14 - Hans "Chris" Michielssen's Centuri X-24 Bug

From 1973, Centuri's original lifting body design.  I had one back then but never got a "glide" out of it.

Made from online scans from the JimZ website. Easy build, beefed up the shroud with acrylic paint and Scotch tape.

Flight Date: 2016-05-14
Rocket Name: Centuri X-24 Bug
Kit Name: Centuri - X-24 Bug {Kit} (5012, KA-12) [1972-1979]
Flyer's Name: Hans "Chris" Michielssen
Motors: Estes B6-2
Expected Altitude: 150.00 Feet
Wind Speed: 10.00 mph
Launch Site: NEFAR - Clegg Sod Farm
Actual Altitude: 100.00 Feet

Boosted at an angle towards mid power pads. Ejected at 100', turned over and went into a lifting body glide.

Steep, a little nose down. Still a success! Everyone was surprised, including me. I'll add a little more clay to bring the nose up. This flight had .25 oz. of clay weight at the rear of the shroud.
