Flight Log - 2011-04-09 - K Sonesen's Estes Super Alpha

When I originally bought this kit, I was amazed at the density of the balsa nosecone.  I decided on the spot to replace the stock 18mm mount with a 24mm.  All up weight of the nosecone (paint, screw eye, etc) was 42 grams! Not being a big fan of airframe and nosecone being the same color, this Super Alpha has a RED nosecone but otherwise follows the color scheme on the packaging.

I also replaced the stock parachute with a Top Flight nylon chute. In addition to the "dog barf", I use a 6x6 flame resistant blanket.

Expected Altitude: 1,000.00 Feet
Wind Speed: 5.00 mph

This was the last flight of the day and I didn't have time to transfer the Altimeter One so know actual altitude was determined.  It was a very nice flight that landed fairly close to the pad.
