This is a new rocket company that Ross from Magnum is doing the packaging and distributing for. The Thunder is a 5.5" diameter kit, has 3 3/16"extended delta fins and comes with a cardboard body tube that is 4 feet long. It has 2 laser cut centering rings (see picture below) to hold in the full length 54mm motor tube (see picture at right), a third ring is being added to future kits. It comes with a ½" launch rod mount, one quick link, 2 eye bolts, and elastic shock cord for the recovery system (see picture below) (I personally will change this elastic to tubular nylon.) There is also a 44" parachute that may not be big enough for this size rocket. The nosecone has an injection molded threaded steel insert for attaching the nosecone eyebolt (see pictures of nose cone at right). This looks to be a quality kit and sells on Magnum's web page for $100. The included instructions need a lot of work. This kit is more for the experienced rocket builder.

As a side note the kit was first released as the TCP Hercules, and a few weeks later it was changed to the TCP Thunder. All Photos for the above article were taken by Jim Ball.
